0333 202 9xxx numbers all appear to be British Gas, but useless unless they are your energy SUPLIER !!! After going mad attempting to negotiate their remote voice’s questions without success, I was eventually asked for my account number, that does not exist as I am not a customer for energy supply. I just wanted to discuss a payment issue in connection with a new boiler installation. Some dozen attempts were made to negotiate their system, each call costing around £1- each time.

I made a call from Wales, using 0844 200 9090 recently - was calling my son in New Zealand. I have often previously used this number as a very low priced alternative to paying the huge rate through bt. This time I have been charged over £9 for a call lasting over an hour. Can anyone help me or explain why it's not cheap anymore?
